10 Commandments Campaign

Students learn and discuss the 10 Commandments during their Bible class time and then go out into the community using the Commandments as a witnessing tool. There are different requirements, concerning this campaign, for each grade level.

Thanksgiving Banquet

An event celebrated by TK through 5th grade for students and parents. Tickets for a buffet lunch served in the gyms must be purchased ahead of time.

*Parent Council/volunteers are utilized.*

King of Kings Breakfast

For this event TK through 3rd grade students are given the option to purchase breakfast ahead of time. Students gather in the cafeteria to eat and watch a skit celebrating the birth of our Savior. The skit, with music, is narrated by our head master, Mr. Ward, and performed by various church and school staff. This event is for students only.

HGBCS Spirit Week

Celebrated the entire week with each day designated by a different theme. Students are encouraged to dress according to the daily theme. A pep rally, parade and homecoming game(s) culminate the week's fun on Friday.

Sanford 10 Testing Week

Close to the end of the school year students take a battery of subtests. Different portions/subjects are tested daily. No studying is necessary.

OLSAT Testing

A test given to 3rd, 6th and 9th graders. It is designed to evaluate their critical thinking and reasoning abilities.
