Promotion Standards

The graduation requirement at Hickory Grove Christian School requires no fewer than 26 units of credit earned in grades 9 through 12. To be promoted from one grade level to the next, students must satisfy the following number of credits to earn SOPHOMORE, JUNIOR, or SENIOR status:

SOPHOMORE STATUS:
(10TH GRADE)		 6 units of credit earned in 9th grade:

  • Three units must be BIBLE 9, ENGLISH 9, and MATH (either ALGEBRA 1 or GEOMETRY)
  • Three other units (preferably ENVIRONMENT SCIENCE, WORLD HISTORY, and SPANISH 1 at a minimum)

    JUNIOR STATUS:
    (11TH GRADE)    		 13 units of credit earned in 10th grade:

  • Two units must be BIBLE 9 and BIBLE 10. Two units must be ENGLISH 9 and ENGLISH 10
  • Two units must be in math (ALGEBRA I and GEOMETRY minimum)
  • Seven units (preferably BIOLOGY, U.S. HISTORY, SPANISH 2, and four cumulative elective credits minimum)

    SENIOR STATUS:
    (12TH GRADE)    		 19 units of credit earned in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades:

  • Three units must be BIBLE 9, BIBLE 10, and BIBLE 11
  • Three units must be ENGLISH 9, ENGLISH 10, ENGLISH 11
  • Three units must be ALGEBRA I, GEOMETRY, ALGEBRA 2 minimum, plus
  • Ten units (preferably CHEMISTRY, GOVERNMENT/ ECONOMICS, SPANISH 3, and six cumulative elective credits minimum)

    GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: 26 units of credit
