HGBCS Elementary School Curriculum

The love of Christ can truly be felt in the Elementary School at HGBCS. You will find warm, loving Christian educators whose responsibility is to integrate a Biblically-based education into the lives of every student on a daily basis. Students are engaged in learning through both secular and Christian curriculum.

The Elementary Curriculum Includes:

  • A reading and language arts program that emphasizes reading skills to enhance all subject areas, along with mechanics and writing applications.
  • A math curriculum that includes a study of patterns, number computation, geometry, fractions, measurement, critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Social Studies that covers geography, history, government and economics.
  • Science curriculum that encourages students to predict, interpret, and apply critical thinking applications to content.
  • Computers, music, art, Spanish and physical education classes.

The Elementary curriculum spirals through basic concepts that form the foundations of learning. Teaching is built around all types of learning styles in order to meet each learner through visual, auditory, and tactile measures.

Teachers utilize ABEKA and ACSI Bible curriculum, Open Court Reading, Scott Foresman Math, Bob Jones Language and Writing, along with Harcourt Science and Social Studies to help each student reach their potential and God’s will for their lives through learning.

"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
